Will McDowall is a researcher specializing in sustainable energy policy, innovation and climate change mitigation and adaptation. He is currently based at the UCL Energy Institute at University College London in the UK. Until 2010 he was a Policy Advisor at the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy, an independent policy advisory agency of the Canadian federal government, where he advised on carbon pricing, governance for sustainable development, and climate change impacts in Canada. He has worked previously as a Policy Associate at the University of British Columbia’s Centre for Health and Environment Research, and as a Research Fellow on energy and environment at the Policy Studies Institute in the UK. He has published numerous academic papers, book chapters and policy reports on energy and climate issues. He was educated in the UK, with a bachelors in biology from the University of York and a masters in biodiversity and conservation from Leeds University. Will has been an Associate Member of Sustainability Solutions Group since 2006, providing input on projects relating to energy policy, climate change, sustainability assessment and sustainable cities.
