Responsibility

Responsibility

Annual sustainability assessment: SSG is dedicated to continuously improving our own sustainability. To this end, we perform an annual sustainability assessment and publish its report. Twenty-seven indicators and indexes track our performance on issues ranging from climate change to worker member happiness. Assessments inform our annual and five year plans.

Working ethos: SSG is dedicated to providing a high quality working environment and meaningful work to its members. Members may work from wherever they choose to live. Compensation is time-based to ensure flexibility and fairness and we provide flexible health care plans, vacation time and parental leave. SSG members are encouraged to be actively involved in society, volunteering for organizations about which they are passionate.

Donations: SSG has a donation policy of ten percent of revenue to grassroots organizations actively supporting sustainability efforts. We report annually on our performance on this policy.

Climate impact: SSG is dedicated to minimizing its impact on the climate. For example, members preferentially use the train and bus over plane travel wherever possible. SSG does not offset its emissions but transparently reports on emissions incurred in the course of doing business.

Purchasing: SSG's purchasing strategies preferentially support local and sustainability certified products.

Cooperation, transparency, collaboration and walking the talk; SSG members feel it is their responsibility to do their very best.
