The Project:

Dharma Ocean in Crestone, Colorada is currently completing the development of the new Residence Hall to help ensure the long-term sustainability of Dharma Ocean and provide a training ground for the path and practice of meditation for generations to come.

Our Role

• Evaluating the sustainability measures currently proposed for Dharma Ocean’s Residence Hall;
• Identifying key opportunities for higher performance including themal performance, daylight and electric lighting design, water, materials and social equity.

Our Approach

Key considerations included:

·        Energy use;

·        Operational cost;

·        Occupant comfort;

·        Rental income;

·        Resilience and reliability of the facility;

·        Supporting the local economy;  and

·        Reducing negative local and global environmental impacts.
