A faith-based ecumenical organization, inspired by a vision of God’s compassionate justice, KAIROS effects social change through advocacy, education, and research programs in: Ecological Justice, Economic Justice, Energy and Extraction, Human Rights, Just and Sustainable Livelihoods, and Indigenous Peoples. We worked with KAIROS to develop a strategy to measure and manage energy consumption and green house gas emissions associated with their operations.

• Establishing a GHG emissions baseline.

• Developing a GHG management/reduction strategy.

• Developing a methodology for personal GHG assessment.

• Providing expertise on energy saving retrofits for office space.

We collected data related to transportation, buildings and travel to construct the GHG baseline. We then worked with Kairos to develop a methodology for tracking emissions. Kairos then asked us to develop a calculator that Kairos members across Canada could use to track their emissions as part of Kairos’ climate mitigation efforts. Kairos also requested guidance on energy efficiency as they transitioned office spaces.
