The Project
Two high-rise waterfront condominiums on Nun’s Island, Montreal. Le Vistal is the largest residential building in Quebec to employ geothermal heating and cooling and the first to target LEED certification in the province.
Innovations and Achievements
• Awarded the Quebec Urban Development Institute’s Multi-residential Real Estate Excellence award, 2010.
• Awarded the 2009 Quebec Home Builders “Environmentally-Friendly Residential Building of the Year”.
• Projected operational energy savings of $125,000 per year.
• Native landscaping with 100% irrigation from rainwater collected in an on-site pond.
• Green Living guide for tenants written by SSG.
• Designed and built to minimize the presence of toxic emitting materials in carpets, paints, adhesives, sealants and other materials.
• Gas fired condensation boilers for hot water have an efficiency of 92%, compared to the 80% of regular boilers.
